Answers to the most frequently asked questions about GoMatt.
How do I book an experience?
Explore by country, city and type (maritime, aerial or terrestrial), pick a listing, then choose the date, start time and booking type. Once confirmed, you have 10 minutes to pay; if you don't, the booking is saved as a favorite and nothing is charged.
What is the difference between Exclusive and Shared bookings?
Exclusive books the whole vehicle for your group: it includes a set number of participants, with an extra price per additional person, and blocks the time slot for others. Shared is paid per person and stays pre-confirmed until the minimum number of participants is reached before the host's deadline; otherwise it's cancelled automatically with a 100% refund.
How long do I have to pay?
10 minutes from confirming the booking. If payment isn't completed in that window, the booking expires at no cost and stays saved in your favorites.
How do I modify my booking?
After the first payment, the "Manage my booking" button lets you change the number of people, date or time, or send a special request. Person-count changes are accepted automatically; date, time and special requests need the host's approval. If the change lowers the price, you're refunded the difference.
How do I cancel, and is there a penalty?
If you haven't paid anything yet, cancelling is free and leaves no record. If the booking was already paid, the listing's cancellation policy in force at the time of booking applies, and the booking appears in "Cancelled trips" with the refund details.
What can I write in the chat?
Before a booking exists, contact details are not allowed: emails (@gmail.com, @hotmail.com or others), phone numbers, WhatsApp, Telegram, Instagram, Facebook, attachments or GPS coordinates. The system blocks those messages for security. After booking, you can coordinate freely in the same chat.
How do invitations and credits work?
When you invite a friend, they get 10% off their first booking, deducted when the payment is confirmed. When an invited person publishes a listing and completes a valid booking, we credit you 100% of the commission as a credit, usable for the next 30 days.
How do I become a Host?
Complete your profile and verify your email and phone. To publish as an Owner, tap “Activate payouts” on your profile and complete the Stripe onboarding, where you enter your identity and bank account; GoMatt doesn't store that data. During the beta, GoMatt manually reviews and approves each profile before your listings go public.
Which countries and currencies does GoMatt operate in?
We currently operate in the United States (USD), Spain (EUR), Portugal (EUR), Brazil (BRL) and Argentina (ARS). Currency and language adapt to your address country, and Explore only shows listings from the active region.
Can I trust the information in listings?
Photos, descriptions and availability are provided by advertisers. The usual route may change for operational, weather or safety reasons, always keeping the quality of the experience. GoMatt is an intermediary: service execution is the advertiser's sole responsibility.
How are payments processed?
Payments are processed through Stripe Connect. You pay by card and the booking is confirmed once Stripe confirms the charge. The Owner sells the experience and GoMatt acts as intermediary, earning only its commission.
Where is my money until the Owner is paid?
Funds due to the Owner are held in custody by Stripe and remain subject to the availability and payout schedules configured for the platform. GoMatt doesn't keep the money in its own accounts, but may delay the release when there is an incident, claim or mediation related to a booking.
What do the verification badges mean?
Profiles can show four badges: Email verified, Phone verified, Identity verified and Payout account verified. The last two are only required from Owners and are validated by Stripe.
How do I use my credits and coupons?
As a User: when you invite a friend, they get a 10% discount on their first booking, deducted when the payment is confirmed. When they complete their first experience, you get credits of the same value, usable within the next 30 days on your next trip; they are applied automatically when booking. As an Owner: when someone you invited publishes a listing and completes a qualifying booking, we credit you 100% of the commission, usable within the next 30 days to offset future commissions or cancellation penalties. Your Wallet shows the available balance and its expiry date.
How do I join the private beta?
During the beta only invited people can sign up. Request access stating whether you want to be a Traveler, Owner or both; when GoMatt invites you, you'll get an email to create your account.
I had a problem with a trip, what should I do?
Go to the Resolution Center. There are three steps: check this help, contact the other party from the booking chat and, if you can't agree, report an issue so GoMatt can mediate.
How long do I have to file a claim?
You can contact the other party or report an issue up to 7 days after the activity date, even if the booking was cancelled or declined.
How does GoMatt mediation work?
Each reported issue gets a 4-character code. GoMatt reviews the messages, listing conditions, attached photos or documents (up to 5), cancellation policy and history, and proposes a solution in the booking chat. Every GoMatt notice stays highlighted in your messages until you read it.
What solutions can GoMatt propose?
Closing without compensation, a promotional credit, a partial or full refund, or an additional payment from the User to the Owner. Refunds require express acceptance from both parties; credits and closures without compensation are applied directly by GoMatt, and an additional payment must be made within 7 days or the proposal expires.
What happens to the Owner's payout during an issue?
While the issue is open, its release is paused. Once resolved, the payout follows its usual schedule and is never brought forward. If there is a refund, the User is served first and any Owner debt to GoMatt afterwards.
